This year, the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Macedonia, supported by the Ministry of Health, will mark World Heart Day – 29 September. Traditionally, the Institute of Public Health organizes activities to raise awareness among the general population of healthy lifestyle and prevention, risk factors that lead to cardiovascular diseases and consequences.
This year’s World Heart Day is marked entitled “Elections for a healthy heart for everyone, everywhere.”
The main event will be held at City Park in Shell in Skopje on September 27 (Sunday) from 10:00 to 14:00 with the following activities:
- free preventive examinations
- pictures with mobile phones – Self portraits by volunteers of the NGO “Healthy future” with anyone who supports the campaign, and the images will be published on the website of the World Cardiology Federation of Facebook, the website of the Institute of Public Health
- distribution of advertising material, with content of the right choices for a healthy heart
- art workshop and exhibition of children’s drawings dedicated to heart and healthy habits
At 12.00 pm will start a special program with the participation of actors of all ages, and a representative of the Institute will present the latest data and information on morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular diseases in the country and the world.
The organization of the event is in collaboration with the NGO Healthy Future, an association for the prevention of CVD, and will also include representatives from other health institutions in the public and private sectors.
