In the period from 19.10-01.11.2019 one new case of measles was reported, This is an unvaccinated child in the 1-4 age group from Skopje.
The case is laboratory confirmed. No epidemiological link was found with another patient.
In total, since the onset of the epidemic in December 2018 as of November 1, 2019, 1901 cases of measles have been registered in the Republic of North Macedonia with a disease rate of 91.9 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Due to the epidemiological criteria, a measles epidemic is ongoing on the entire territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
According to the results obtained from the samples sent to Luxembourg’s reference measles laboratory, the B3 Dublin genotype circulates in the country, which circulating also in the neighboring countries.
A total of 1123 children (preschool and school age) were vaccinated in the 42nd and 43 rd week in the country. The total number of immunized people aged 14 years with MRP vaccine since the start of the epidemic in the republic is 42746.
From the beginning of the epidemic to present date, in the Centers for Public Health, a total of 6295 people have been vaccinated, of which more than 60% are health workers, students and pupils in secondary medical schools, the rest are persons over 14 years of age.
