Information about the activity performed in Division for Control and Prevention of Injuries and Violence

  1. monitors and studies the situation with injuries and violence at local, national, regional and global levels;
  2. monitors and studies risk factors for injuries and violence;
  3. prepares injuries registers according to current legislation and EU standards
  4. participates in designing a national information system for monitoring injuries according to WHO recommendations;
  5. prepares reports, analyses and expert opinions on safety, i.e., situation with injuries and violence;
  6. prepares national programs for the control and prevention of injuries and violence;
  7. participates in creating the national strategy and action plan for the control and prevention of injuries and violence;
  8. suggests appropriate measures for the organization of the health service for the control and prevention of injuries: pre-hospital care, transport of the injured, hospital care, treatment and rehabilitation of the injured;
  9. performs analysis of the social-medical aspects of injuries and violence as well as economic analyses of certain intervention programs for the control and prevention of injuries and violence;
  10. performs health educational activities and other activities for the promotion of safety in the community;
  11. prepares educational and promotional materials for the safety of all structures in all environments from all injuries for the general public and mass media.
